Fibreglass mesh tape is designed to use with a setting-type joint compound only. It is not recommended to use drying-type compounds with fibreglass mesh tape.

Instead of applying tapes to the joints, we mix fibres in the taping mud and apply the fibre reinforced taping compound - tapeless mud to the joints directly.

The fibres cross link to each other and form a 3D structural mat like Fibafuse Paperless Drywall Tape in the mud. It increases bonding strength and gives the mud more tensile strength and flexibility to resist cracks caused by plastic shrinkage, building shifting, moisture and temperature changes or poor boarding workmanship.

The joints are welded by the tapeless mud.

- Fiber reinforcement of composite materials is like framing a house. We need 2”x6” studs for exterior walls and supporting interior walls, 2”x4” studs for unsupporting interior walls. We probably can use a single size stud to frame every wall, but for sure it’s not the best way to build a house. Fiber reinforcement is the same thing. To use just a single size of fiber cannot achieve peak performance cost efficiently.
- Fibers form a 3D structure in composite materials like house frame. Different sizes of fibers perform different roles. They work together to achieve peak performance efficiently. The length of fiber matters, diameter matters, and the ratio of components is extremly important.
- After more than 10 years of research and experiments, we have found the very best materials and combination of ingredients.

- If the diameter of the rope is too thin or too thick, the length is too short, then the kids cannot hold it firmly with their little hands. If the rope is too long then too many kids on each side to pull it really hard, then the rope is going to break.
- A single fiber in the mud is exactly like the rope. The Mud holding the fibre and pulling it exactly like what the kids are doing. The fibre must be in the appropriate diameter and length so that it can have the appropriate function that it was supposed to have. In science of mechanics of materials, this is called Length/Diameter Ratio.
- We use precision cut Polyacrylonitrile(PAN) short fibres in various of diameters and lengths with the best Length/Diameter Ratio and the best combination to make Tape in Mud™.
- PAN fibre is a perfect material for joint compound reinforcement. It’s thin and very soft, with high tensile strength and perfect Elastic Modulus.
- Currently, DC 1.0mm/8um super short PAN fibre is best in the world. According to our research and calculations, fibres with 0.5-0.6mm/3-4um L/D Ratio, would have even better performance. But no manufacturers can make it right now. Fortunately, scientists, engineers and technicians in DaChuan are working extremely hard, trying to make it available as soon as possible.
